{"id":8693,"date":"2019-08-20T11:32:55","date_gmt":"2019-08-20T10:32:55","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.talkingmats.com\/?p=8693"},"modified":"2019-08-20T11:32:55","modified_gmt":"2019-08-20T10:32:55","slug":"improving-health-and-housing-outcomes-for-tenants","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.talkingmats.com\/improving-health-and-housing-outcomes-for-tenants\/","title":{"rendered":"Improving Health and Housing outcomes for tenants"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Talking Mats have been part of an exciting research project which looked at whether the Digital Talking Mat App could improve health and housing outcomes for social housing tenants.<\/p>\n<p>Working together with tenants and staff from Loretto Housing and Care, Stirling University, Napier University and Age Scotland we have developed and piloted a new Talking Health and Housing set for the Talking Mats App!<\/p>\n<p><strong>Project Aims<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The aim of the project was to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Develop an App that would support social housing tenants with communication difficulties to say what they thought about their Housing and Health.<\/li>\n<li>To improve communication between social housing tenants and health professionals.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Researchers were also keen to see whether the App would help to demonstrate the link between tenants\u2019 housing and health solutions.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What we did<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Talking mats team facilitated two focus group sessions with all the partners to decide what topics were needed.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 1rem;\">Once the mats had been completed the researchers from Stirling University and Napier University conducted interviews and focus groups with staff from Loretto and related Health professionals and then analysed the data from the mats.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>The Talking Health and Housing set<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The set has three topics: <strong>Home, Wellbeing, Support people<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Top scale for this set is <em>Going well\u2026Going well sometimes\u2026Not going well<\/em><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.talkingmats.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/THH-Blog-picture-2.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-8695\" src=\"https:\/\/www.talkingmats.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/THH-Blog-picture-2-300x225.png\" alt=\"THH Blog picture 2\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" \/><\/a>\u00a0One of the major themes to emerge was safety inside and outside the house.
