The project is based on a collaboration between Department of Social Work at the University of Gothenburg, Bor\u00e5s University College and the municipality of Bor\u00e5s, aiming to develop and evaluate the use of Talking Mats.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.talkingmats.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/Anna-Duer.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone  wp-image-9292\" src=\"https:\/\/www.talkingmats.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/Anna-Duer.jpg\" alt=\"Anna Duer\" width=\"156\" height=\"241\" \/><\/a>\u00a0 Professor Anna\u00a0Dun\u00e9r<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.talkingmats.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/Angela-Bangsbo-.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone  wp-image-9290\" src=\"https:\/\/www.talkingmats.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/Angela-Bangsbo-.jpg\" alt=\"Angela Bangsbo\" width=\"165\" height=\"236\" \/><\/a> \u00a0 Dr Angela B\u00e5ngsbo<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone  wp-image-9291\" src=\"https:\/\/www.talkingmats.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/Tina-Olsson-e1583923777524.jpg\" alt=\"Tina Olsson\" width=\"176\" height=\"235\" \/>\u00a0 Associate Prof. Tina Olsson<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: black;\">In Sweden, as in many other developed countries, ideas of consumer choice and personalisation of services have been implemented in social care with the intention of achieving better choice and control as well as increased quality of the services provided for the individual. However, persons living with dementia are at risk of being excluded from the opportunities provided to other groups of service users. Thus, it is important to develop both needs-assessment procedures, and improve the performance of home care services, to enable older people living with dementia continuous choice and control in their everyday living. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: black;\">We hope that Talking Mats will improve the communication between service users, care managers and staff in eldercare and lead to increased influence of service users over the decisions and planning of their home care services. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: black;\">During 2020 we have funding for a planning study where we can develop and test the Talking Mats decision aid, identify, translate and test outcome measurements, and refine and test the procedures for a comparative intervention project.
